Our story, the condensed version.

David and I met on my birthday, 15 December 2006.  He was a new employee at Wencor (located in Springville, UT) and I worked for digEcor, a small company owned by Wencor.  Our building included a warehouse that we would use to ship our products- that is where David was to be.  I remember talking to him and thinking he was a cute guy.  We ended up being email buddies there at work...we would just chat about silly things, he'd tell me about the girls he was dating, I would tell him about the guys I was with.  I remember that I thought he was kind of a player.  He moved to Salt Lake and quit working at Wencor.  We kept in contact and eventually started to date.

We dated long distance, I was in Provo and he was in Salt Lake.  I eventually found a job in Bountiful and moved to Salt Lake in April 2007.  We continued to date and things got more and more serious.  That summer we got engaged.  David proposed to me in Vegas after we spent the day with my dad.  Dad had left and we went to the Cheesecake Factory and after that we watched the Bellagio fountains.  After the show finished he asked me to marry him. I said of course and that was that!

We planned to get married on 5 October 2007.  This was a great time because the week after was David's fall break from school and it gave us the chance to have a week long honeymoon.  Problem was that that weekend was General Conference and all the temples would be closed Saturday and Sunday.  Of course a lot of others had the same idea.  We first planned to get married in the Salt Lake temple, but after considering all the traffic with General Conference going on we moved it to the Bountiful temple.  David had a mid-term the morning of our wedding.  Needless to say, it was the worst grade he has ever gotten on a test.  The ceremony was beautiful.  I wish I could remember what our sealer said.  My sister said that one thing she remembered him saying was that our marriage is between David and I and that we need to not care what other people think.  I loved it.  Reception was beautiful.  And then off we went to enjoy our week in Mexico.

We stayed at the Monte Carlo in Salt Lake our wedding night.  Kaira and Josh decorated our room with candles and food.  We checked in and all of a sudden we smelled something burning.  The tea lights that were used were in plastic holders and on a plate that was shaped like a bowl.  As soon and the wax had melted, the plastic containers caught on fire!  We were able to get the fire out, but by then the smoke alarm had been set off.  David was doing the best he could to get the smoke clear of the vents, but the windows did not open.  Then the hotel guys show up (the one that checked us in and knew it was our wedding night, so that was embarrassing) and he couldn't get the alarm to turn off, either.  After about 45 minutes of trying, they finally just moved us to a new room on a different floor.  We left all the decorations in the room.  It was so funny.

The next morning we flew to Mexico and spent a week at an all-inclusive resort.  It was so wonderful.  We ate a lot, went parasailing, shopped, stayed in, ate and ate some more.  I would do it again in a heartbeat.  David, on the other hand, wouldn't.  He couldn't donate blood for a year and he is an avid blood donor.  We'll see though, I bet I can get us to go again.
